Hi Mike and team.

Love the journals and always such a fun adventure to Russia! Bags are always missing and the open market is just the best to check out. Smile  I still haven't seen Misty in those denim gem-studded jeans!

With regards to the sound that was in that green duffel....I'm pretty sure it must be Cavaleo! He would sound like that. Caveleo, in case you haven't met him, is PT teacher Gerty Ward's mascot.  He's the cutest lion and should be on his way to a Canadian icebreaker but maybe he went to Russia instead? Tongue out

Give my best to Natasha when she shows up as well as Ben and Jody!  it will be nice to have Natasha translate for you - especially the sat phone instructions Laughing

Best,

Janet

Janet -
Mike passes along the following:
"I said hello to natasha, ben, & jody for you.
Natasha's translating skills have already come in VERY handy! This year we also have a student, Douglas Querl, who studies Japanese art history and lived in Hokkaido as a teenager. So he is handy to have around as a Japanese translator!"
And as you can see now, the sound was NOT Caveleo!
Also, I PROMISE that the next time I come to Fairbanks, I will wear my "Russian Bling" pants for you!
