What on earth is a satellite phone?Undecided

A big part of what makes these phones work is actually NOT on earth! Sat (or satellite) phones work by sending signals (phone or, in this case, computer) up to satellites that are in orbit around earth. The signal is then sent back down to receivers on land, which then translate and relay the signal to where it's supposed to go. Pretty neat, huh? --Dr E.
