The GEO team (Jody, Bre, and Andy) went to Sicily for a Geology Course on Sicilian Evaporites, which are a unique type of salt deposit.  It would have been a neat trip, but it is not really in my field.
 
Instead, I'll be spending my time starting to work stabilizing the samples we brought back from Russia.  That will mostly involve drying the samples out, but some of the samples will receive special treatment to try to preserve them.
