Hi Misty,

My turn to ask the questions. Having been before, how are you preparing differently for this trip? Are you visiting the same locations as last year?

RobI am preparing a little bit differently this time....I definitely will make sure to pack some of my clothes and other essentials in EACH of my bags and not just in one of them.....
I am also changing a bit of my gear lists so to eliminate some of the things that I don't really need (like xtratuffs) and to add some of the things that I would like (like a pair of bib overall rain gear AND rain pants - can't have enough rain gear for the Kurils!).
We will be visiting two main location this summer (see today's post for more details), both of which I visited last year - Vodopadnaya on Simushir and Drobnyye on Shiashkotan. Both I remember very vividly - Drobnyye was my favorite field day!
I'll put links in my post to show you where they are and what we did there the first time.
