WinkHi Ms. Nikula its Roberta again and i have my last question: On the 10th of August you said that you and Mike Ethnier saw some Fur seals and Sea Lions. My question is what other types of seals live there and if you saw any other types anywere else in the Kurils. Byeez, Roberta. P.S i cant wait to see you in about a week!!

RobertaThe most common kinds of marine mammals that we saw from land were the Steller Sea Lions and the Fur Seals.  In the water we saw harbor seals, like the seals that you can see in the Puget Soun, and sea otters.  We did als havethe good fortune to see two sperm whales swim by the ship on our way back to Korsakov!
There are lots of other kinds of seals and sea lions - ringed seals, arctic seals, California sea lions - that don't live in the Kuril Islands, too.
I am excited about seeing all of you next week, too!  Wait until you see our new, remodeled room!
