Hi Frankie,
Oh yes, there is a time difference! It's a bit of a challenge to keep track of it actually, but here is what I have come up with! I always wrestle with this! It makes talking to folks back home a logistical challenge - it's not easy to find a time when both ends of the conversation will be up and about!
Technically, time in Antarctica is about 17 hours AHEAD of us on the east coast of the US. For instance... it's 5:30 am here in NH (Thursday), and it's 10:30 pm (Thursday) in McMurdo Station.
That seems easy enough. But, let's say I want to schedule a LIVE CHAT with schools back in the US - to keep it somewhat "simple", let's focus on trying to connect with east coast schools. If I want to connect with schools at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, can you figure out what time/day it needs to be in Antarctica for me to call? It's tricky isn't it!!!
Let's see if we got the same answer...
I came up with:  6 am Thursday
Is that what you got? (Remember... I ALWAYS wrestle with this, so perhaps I am mistaken!)
Let me know if our answers agree! I need to be sure I'm doing this correctly!
Cheers,
Robin
