Mrs. K., Read your journal entries. Very entertaining! I'm glad to see you're having fun. Still too cold for me and I like Michigan in winter! I see we can expect you to laugh at school closings for cold when you return. Loved hearing about the food you get to eat. The dehydrated stuff looked particularly...um...delicious? Naw, not really. Well, everyone here is thinking of you, I think I'll go make some pasta with homemade sauce followed by a slice of fresh apple pie.

Toodles,

Mr. S.

Hey Lou
It's good to hear that you guys are missing me and tell everyone that I say Hi. It is amusing to think that we cancel school at -25 and I just went camping in a snow cave in the same temperature. It was -40 yesterday and I could feel that it was colder than normal but I didn't realize that it was that cold until I looked at the weather data. Michigan winter is going to feel like summer to me this year. As for the food, I am still at base for another day and they feed us really well here. Once we are out in the field and we have to cook our own meals and we don't get any fresh fruits or vegetables it might be a little different.
Thanks for checking in,
Lindsay

Hola!!
I still can't believe you're in Antarctica after reading your journals and that people willingly keep returning- my goodness!!! I'm so glad you're getting to live through this once in a lifetime opportunity! You should post more pictures! Have you used the chain saw yet? =)
WE MISS YOU!!!
bring me back some snow.... lol

Lambdin

Hey Lindsay,
The Pictures are pretty cool and V. is amused by the outhouse pictures, he says thanks for including it. Everything here is well and we miss seeing you around here. The snow cave/trench looks Ridiculous!!. There is no way I would spend the night in that thing. I also enjoy the weather updates as brisk and windy, that is an understatement at -35 and 65 mph. We look forward to seeing you soon back here. Have fun and stay safe, and hurry back for Aquatic Biology its killling me.
Lambdin
P.s. we won homecoming.

Colin!

Hey Mrs. Knippenberg! :)
Hope you're having a good time in the cold weather. It's nice and sunny here! Vince and I are anticipating starting Envirothon when you get back. This is gonna be a good year! Also, while you are gone, Phish is coming to Cobo Hall! And of course I'm going, but it reminded me of you when you saw them in college, so I thought I'd let you know. We all miss you and we can't wait until you get back. Send good vibes your way!

Hey Mrs. Knippenberg,
No, I don't think juniors won the float building because apparently it looked like a bunch of boxes taped together (from what I heard, I didn't see the finished product). I'm jealous because it seems like everyone there has a beard, obviously the males. Are there really fires there that often, its a small town and it doesn't seem like people have to start fires all that often. Have you gone to the Dry Valleys yet? If you have hope your doing well, if you haven't good luck!
Have fun!
-Vince

Hey Vinny
I am kind of jealous of the beards too. My cheeks are always cold and it seems like the guys with the beards never get cold cheeks. As for the fires, it is soooo dry here that if something caught on fire, it would spread really quickly. I am in the Dry Valleys and we are not allowed to set any fires on the ground. To cook our food, we use propane stoves.
Thanks for the questions

Hey Colin
Its sunny here...24 hours a day :) You better be started with Envirothon and have a community service project figured out by the time I get back. I got an email from the directors and they are only taking 24 teams to states and there will for sure be eliminations at regionals. Have fun at the Phish show. My first time seeing them, I was in high school too.
Thanks for checking in on me,

Hey Lamb,
I don't think that Antarctica would be your cup of tea. It is a little cold and a little windy for you. Tell V that the outhouse in the picture was in McMurdo. We don't have an outhouse. We have a tent with a poop box in the middle of it for number 2 and I just pee into my bottle anywhere. I did take a picture of my pee bottle for him. Best of luck with aquatic. I'm sure you and Lisa can figure something out.

Hey Natalia!
Yes, I am finally on the Antarctic continent and I did get to do some chainsawing today. I just got internet for the first time in a week today, so there will be more pics and hopefully some video added soon. I miss you guys too...tell everyone that I said hi.
