Mrs. Knippenberg! I'm gald to hear you safetly made it to antartica! I was just at the homecoming game, (Get this South Lake won!! 50-14!! (Or something like that) And Sophmores got second place in the float contest YAHOO!! (seniors got 4th....sorry:(:( tear...) freezing my butt off. Then I read all your journals...30F isn't that bad...compared to what your living in right now. Hope your staying warm. You are right?? Don't make me come down there! :)

Are those snow caves really that warm??? Looks like they are freezing! I'm getting the chills just thinking about it(....or could that be because I'm down stairs??).

I'm also very excited to hear you found some tasty food to eat. Those dehydrated dinners you were explaining kinda sounded like what they make at Olive Garden (I'm just kidding). Have you eaten anything that you know you'll bring back to Michigan and share?? I'm all for new things!

well....i can't think of anything else...and this is getting pretty long....hope you have fun! Be safe!! Your fav. Sophmore Ever!! Ashley T.

Hey Ashley!
Thanks for updating me on the Homecoming game. I'm glad that we are winning some games this year.  Congrats on the winning 2nd place in the float contest. Did the juniors win?
The cold here was hard to get used to at first. I have never felt such cold, dry air before. The dryness bothers me more then the cold. I am constantly applying lotion and chap stick, but my hands and lips are still so dry. Yesterday I was walking around the station and it was like -30 out and I was pretty cold, but the coat and other gear that they gave me work pretty well to keep me warm.
Keep on checking in and have fun at the dance tonight.
