Microorganisms in Antarctic Glacier Ice

Hi Lindsay! Congratulations on making it to Antarctica. The temps and wind remind me of Barrow, AK. How come you guys aren't completely covered over your face with gaiters and goggles in those kind of temps? I remember the wind cutting in and giving me a brain freeze from the outside in when I had 4 layers on my head already! Keep warm, safe and the awesome journals going! Hey Betsy!
It is pretty cold here, but I think that it may have to do something with you being from Arizona and me being from Michigan. While we are in town we aren't really outside all that much so I just zip my jacket up all the way over my face.  The next two days are going to be the real test. I have happy camper school where they teach us survival skills and then leave us outside overnight. They are predicting -20 F the entire time so it should be chilly. Wish me luck and thanks for following along.
