Hi Betsy, Rachel and Edna here - We are fascinated with your fabulous updates. Rachel particularly enjoys the animals shots and was happy to hear that the bear was not alive (he wasn't was he?!) We were also entertained with the photos of you all smelling snow! I can honestly say, I don't think we've ever gotten that close to it (at least, not on purpose). We'll continue to follow your travels. What an incredible experience! Learn a lot!

The brown bear I took a picture of in Anchorage was definitely not alive.  I'm a bit crazy, but not that crazy.  The polar bear on the sea ice was definitely alive.  At this point I have not seen any other animals, not even birds.  I have to pretend that there are birds chirping everyday when I go out and hear the SODAR machine send out its chirping noise.  It reminds me of the sound that is made from a cell phone when it is plugged into a battery charger.  I'll get a video of it soon. Thanks for following me.
