Wow! What fun you are having!

It was great hearing from you!

The students in your 3rd and 4th period classes have questions for you!

Fourth period wants to know how much weight the sled dogs can pull? Where do they stay when they are not pulling? They also want to know if you are going to make a video where you throw water up into the air and see if it freezes. They are really hoping to get to see that!

Third period wants to know what is the most fun thing you have done so far.

I'm not sure exactly how much weight the dogs can pull.  The Greenland Husky that Geoff has does better on expeditions.  The Alaskan Husky like my cousin in Anchorage has and the dogs used in the Yukon Quest and the Iditarod are built for speed.  The Greenland has a bigger paw and thicker fur.  The Alaskan usually runs with booties on for long races.
Geoff's dogs were very happy pulling 3 people on the sled and had no difficulties.  When they are not working they are kennelled outside.  Look at  the pictures in my photo album and you can see his kennel.  They are chained up and they each have their own little house.
Yesterday I got to go out on the sea ice which was totally awesome.  I will write it up for you. I don't know what has been the most fun. I have really enjoyed meeting all kinds of new people.  We are working with scientists from all around the world.  I am trying to learn one new saying from each nationality.  My roommate, Holly, from the UK says "Rubbish!"  It is comparable to say "Dang" or "Drats", or "Bogus".  I'll compile my list and publish it later.
I did do a science day with Mrs. Wilkening where we tried to throw water up in the air and videotape it.  We also poured syrup (it is one of the major food groups) in the snow and ate it.  Spencer Brown videotaped it for me, but I have not gotten a copy of it.  He left for San Francisco on sunday.  Hopefully I'll get the video from him soon.  If not, Carlye, my roommate who is a professional photographer from NCAR will videotape me trying it again.  Stay Tuned!
