Hi Mrs. Wilkening.... I was wondering what the temperature in Fairbanks was today? Currently at 4:50 it is 80*. Hopefully all of your gear is keeping you warm and cozy...and not freezing. I hope so far your journey is going well.

Hi Christian!    It is currently 18 degrees F, -8 degrees Celsius.  I've been nice and toasty.  They keep the buildings very warm.  My classroom and Wilson school is much colder.  Today I took a nice walk at lunch and it was sunny outside.  Tomorrow we will be outside more as we are going to the Reindeer Farm at U of Alaska Fairbanks.
All the other teachers were jealous of me, since I was the first person to get a question from my students.
Thanks, and enjoy the 20 below weather in Tucson.  I have been telling people that it is 20 below 100 degrees in Tucson.

Hey Mrs. Wilkening! I was wondering, do they really have earth quakes that common way up north? Or is that not so common because of the volcano?

Good Question.  (Christian?)  please include your name.We are going to start studying earthquakes when I am home for the next two weeks.
Stay tuned.
