Hi Gerty,

I am enjoying your journal and photos - I love the video's the most!

I was wondering if when those nets are pulled in if ever you get any larger species like fish in them?

Hope you are digging the ship adventure - next stop - NOAA Teacher at Sea!!

Happy Day to you Mate!

Hi Elizabeth!  I asked Brian Hunt about what he has found in the nets so far.  Nothing big, he reports.  But he has caught some big pelagic tunicates in Bongo nets in the sub-tropics.  They look like big space ships, large transparent cucumbers traveling in swarms and glowing. Now that would be a sight!  The LSSL is a wonderful adventure.  We are now heading north -- into the ice...
Cheers,Gerty
