Hi, Gerty,

I am so happy that you are posting every day! For some reason (prob. my own technological ineptitude) I have not been able to retrieve the posts since 7/19 but now they have all magically appeared on my computer and I am catching up. I love the explanations and the videos. Forgive me if you have already addressed this, and I just haven't read it yet, but did you get to view the eclipse? Also, could you explain a little more about the Eggling?

Hi Marty,
Thank you for following along. I am really glad that you like the movies
-- they are easy and very fun to make. Because they are big files, I can
only send them when we are at lower latitudes so please check back in
about 7-10 days for more.
No we did not see the eclipse. The Visitors Center in Cambridge Bay had a
visibility chart and we figured out that we would be too far west to see
it. Also, it has been so cloudy and foggy that we probably could not have
seen it anyway.
The Eggling germinated a few days ago, one seed did anyway. Not sure it
was warm enough, so I have moved it away from the window. Will keep you
updated (the germination is in the 8/2 post I believe, which as I type
this, is wending its way to PolarTREC!)
Cheers from 80N, 150W
