Hi Sarah! Wow what an interesting and wonderful place Point Hope is! Everyone has been so nice and we've been busy learning about each other, the different animals found in the Arctic vs. New York as well as the oceanographic research we were working on in Barrow. Whew! 9 presentations in 2 days! Too much fun adapting everything for the different grade levels and personalities. All the students have been terrific and are VERY interested in learning about Arctic ocean based research which makes it all just too much fun! They're all great listeners and ask really good questions. Dr. Ashjian is flying in tonight. I'll either be picking her up or off riding an ATV for the first time behind Cristina....that should give me some stories to tell I'm sure! The assistant principal will pick Carin up and take her to where she'll be staying. Tomorrow we'll give 4 talks to the high school science classes.The Eskimo dancing at last nights open house was just beautiful!
