HI Lisa, I enjoyed seeing your tour around Barrow. I love the video/slide shows...great! Neat to see the cottongrass in bloom, it had pretty well bloomed and was done by the time I left Toolik late June.
Looks like the Healy was the news of the day...did you get to get on it yourself? I wonder how far out to sea you'll be on the Ukpik? Have fun!

Hi Susan! So glad you're enjoying the videos. Yes the Healy was the news of the day. Pretty amazing to see the transfers back and forth. As far as how far we went out on the Ukpik.....I'll have to check and get back to you. We actually just got in. Woke up at 6am, out to boat at 8am and 19.5 hours later (3:30am) we came off the boat, then back to the lab where I helped pick krill from samples............now 4:23am and it's time for bed! Never had time to check the lines we sampled along as too busy helping to sample, but my researchers said they would set me up with some good diagrams.Well off to bed for a bit anyway!
Thanks for staying in touch and following the journals, it's always so nice to hear from you.
