Hi Lisa!! This is going to be an exciting adventure, and I know you're ready for it! Can't wait to hear about it through your journals. I hope you can connect with Matt at Barrow HS while you're there. Have fun, and always keep one hand on the ship :D cheers, Lollie

Hi Lollie! Yes I'm very excited and already learning so much! On Tuesday we climbed a mountain to check out a glacier in Anchorage, on Wednesday flew to Prudhoe Bay, loaded the boat, loaded the boat with supplies and equipment and spent the night in the lee of an island. Today we steamed ahead with a following sea with a short stop to set oceanographic equipment. We arrived at Barrow just a few hours ago!Whew!
I plan on catching up with Matt, and at the end with Cristina in Point Hope.
Thanks for you good words of advice and I'm glad you'll be following along!
take care-Lisa

group of teachers/friends and tonight I'm going to the High School open
house. Nice group of people up here! We tried to get a group of
teachers on the boat yesterday, but wind conditions made it impossible
so we'll have to try another day. At this point, wind again, we're not
even exactly sure where our boat is! The next few days look like they'll
be good conditions for research which is terrific. A side benefit would
be getting a chance to see the 25 killer whales swimming around!
Hope you enjoy the videos and journals, if there's anything in
particular you'd like me to cover just let me know.
Thanks for the good advice!
