There is such a difference in temperatures from where you all come from to where you are in Alaska. How are you all handeling the temperature changes?

I was surprised at how quickly I adjusted to the cold when I
first came to Fairbanks this past February. However I definitely
dressed for the weather and that's really what made all the difference
between feeling fine and miserably cold! When I arrived in Fairbanks it
was -39 degrees Farenheit. In Barrow its a toasty warm 20-35 degrees F.
It actually feels warm. In planning for our actual research in August
and September, I'm packing lots of warm clothes, tall rubber boots and
heavy weather gear to help stay warm and dry while we're on the boat.
It will be summer but we're still on the Arctic Ocean! I'm told the
captain of our research vessel keeps the boat toasty warm on the inside
for the scientists to warm up in between collecting samples.
Thanks for your question!
