Okay the wave videos were my favorite but now the seal and kril have topped it!!!  Is that the only time you'll get to go out with the seal team or will you get another chance?  Leaving in the small boat across that frozen world just looked like the most amazing experience.  Not exactly like being in a canoe on Lake Temalo, huh?

Looking forward to seeing you, but not in any rush to see this adventure come to an end for you.  Keep enlivening our lives.  The germs love to watch your adventures.

Kathy,
I have gone out with the seal team 4 times and each time it gets better and better.  And each time I think of our brother who would go nuts to be here.  I can’t even go into the details of the 8 hour hike onto the ice of McMurdo Sound 2 nights ago.  5 Weddell seals and I got to operate the capture net each time, a Minke whale surfaces and rests for 20 minutes in an opening as we stand on the ice edge 12 feet away, out all night, at 4:30am I lie down on my belly at the ice edge in front of the ship and hold my hand held underwater camera in the water to video a 30 foot Minke whale as is passes 15 feet in front of me.  It is too much.  My brain is full.
Wait until your kids see the 2 videos I am working on today.
Take care,
…from the sea ice of McMurdo Sound, Antarctica,
Jeff
