Hey whats up its Zach from Flagstaff Arizona, how  are you doing im doing well. in my class in science in the pond. we are measuring the depth and perimeter of the pond. also we tested for ecoli and some other chemicals inside the water. we made a sediment trap to put in the water and were going to put it in the water and see if it catches sediments.

i was wondering is the water in the antartic fresh or does it have chemicals in it. how many months at a tiime are you gone when you go tyo the antartic.

Hi Zach!
Thanks for the questions.  I think your expedition to the pond sound super and I want to talk to your teacher about how to make sediment traps for my students too.
Regarding your questions, I will be in the Antarctic aboard the Swedish icebreaker Oden for 2 month.  Part of the reason that it is so cool to study water in Antarctica is that it has some of the most pure and unpolluted sea and fresh water in the world.
Take care, have fun,
