Oden Antarctic Expedition 08

Hey Jeff.

Im Sonya from Newstart Middle School in Flagstaff Az. How do you like being on the ship. I Bet it is scary i never been on a big boat like that before. How is the food on the boat. Do you like eat regular food like you did. Did You hang our flag up. i colored most of the flag be i didnt draw nothing beacuse i dont know how to draw :).

I think your flag looks great and you will see it in today’s journal (12/3/08)
Part of an expedition like this is about opening up yourself to try new things and to trust other people. I have met the crew and Master of the Oden and I completely trust them and the mighty ship to keep me safe. I am not afraid at all. I am also open to try new things and to make new friends. The food on the Oden is great and much of it is similar to American food. What is surprising is that at breakfast time the Swedes eat the kind of food you and I would expect for lunch. Ham and cheese sandwiches with cucumbers for breakfast are new to me!
