Nicole!
First, I am sorry that it has taken me so long to reply to your question but here goes.
It is summer here in Antarctica and we are 71? South of the Equator so I haven’t seen the sun go down since we left South American over a week ago.  The temperature is not much colder than Central NY.  It is mostly a few degrees below freezing.  I could never get bored on this expedition.  I have a number of jobs that keep me going about 12 hours a day.  There are 53 other people to get to know and I went for a walk today, sat down on the ice and had a group of penguins walk right up to me.  Life is to short for me to keep doing the same things all the time.  I like adventures and this is mega adventure!
Take care, and keep reading my journals,
Jeff
