How are you doing?  How do you like it on the boat?  How good is the food you are showing pictures of?  Are you making a lot of friends.  Do they like Americans, what do they think of us Americans?  Did you get to drive the boat yet? Do you have a favorite sports team, we will send you scores!  I like Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.  How are your new sunglasses working?  Do they have coffee on board? Is it like Starbucks?

Write back! Prince

Prince!
You have asked some very good questions. Life on the Oden is great and the food is very tasty and they have a coffee machine that can add chocolate to the coffee! I am making many new friends but no, the Oden’s Master will not let me drive the boat! And, no, I really don’t follow any college or professional sports. And, no, I haven’t needed my polar sunglasses yet.
However, your questions about what the Swedes think of Americans has caused me to gather a few of my new friends together and ask them. Most of the people on the Oden from Sweden have been to the United States on business trips or vacation and some have even lived in the US for a while. When I asked your question to the group thay told me that in Sweden they are very affected by American culture and by US political policies. Swedish TV shows American TV programs and movies and most Swedes speak and read English. They told me that they find Americans to be friendly, funny and quick to welcome them when they travel to the US. However, sometimes American TV and movies give a false impression of what most Americans are really like. They also told me that lately, like many places in the world, Swedes are not very happy with the political policies and practices of the United States. But, they like the American people that they have met.
Have fun, keep reading the journal and keep asking questions,
