Seals are extremely fun to be near.  Usually it take a lot of effort to get to them.  We have to walk long distances over the sea ice carrying heavy equipment and crabeater seals will only let you get about 20 feet away before they try to flee.  They can move faster over the snow that we can so it is tricky to get the net over them.  Once they are in the net, 2 humans have to hold down a 500 pound seal and you have to put your whole body into it!  It is hard work and it if a blast.
Take care,
