Jack!
 Thanks for the question.  I had a great time visiting the 5th & 6th graders at Chestnut Hill Elementary School today.
First, I will assist several different groups of scientists aboard the Oden while we are in Antarctica, but I will not be responsible for any of the scientific decisions.  The scientific team that is going to capture the seals will only hold the seals for a few minutes so that they can harmlessly collect virus and bacteria samples.  I don't believe they will tag or track the seals.  I will bring my underwater video camera so that we can watch the seals swim under the ice after they are released.
Ask me this question again in December when I am on the sea ice and working with the team.  At that time I will be able to give you more details.
