Can the Oden break through the fast ice? And thanks for answering my last question!

Yes - the Oden can break through some fast ice. From Jan. 10-17 we were breaking through "fast" ice - the ice in McMurdo Sound as we were breaking the shipping channel into McMurdo Station. The Oden can break ice over 2 meters thick, but the thicker the ice, the longer it takes. See my latest journal entry for lots more information about icebreaking - and a video too!
