If all of the ice were to melt in the north and south poles what would happen to the polar bears and what would be the chain reaction for all other livings organism there. Also what would it do to the rest of the world?

Hi,This is an excellent question. If all the sea ice and glacial ice were
to melt, this would affect the polar bears greatly. The way the hunt
for food is by catching seals that come up to breath through holes in
the ice. They can swim, but not for very long distances. Unless the
bear could adapt and find another steady food source, then they will
probably struggle to survive.
There would be lots of affects on the organisms in the same ecosystem as
the polar bears. Also, other organisms that live in the ocean would be
affected.
If all of the ice were to melt, there would be affects that we might not
have even hypothesized about yet.
I will definitely be learning about more concrete examples of models of
this situation and then share them with you all.
Thanks,
Ms Galvan
