how big would the den have to be to fit three cubs plus the mom?

Hi Jillian! In general polar bears do not have three cubs. The usually have two cubs
for each reproductive cycle.
A den is usually about big enough for 2-3 people - the height of the den
varies a lot. The dens are warmer than the surrounding environment. In
fact, to find dens scientists use infrared technology.
Hope that helps!
