Predatory Spiders in the Arctic Food Web

Mr. LaFave,

I might have missed this, but did you end up finding a correlation between the bird droppings on the OTCs and changes in the wolf spider population? Was there a lower spider density where there were more bird droppings? Also, what kinds of birds (beside the Lapland Longspur mentioned in the journal) frequent your research station?

Great question Krista!I was unable to see any significant correlation between the bird droppings and the wolf spider populations. I did find that the number of droppings seemed to increase as we moved further uphill regardless of the spider populations.
