After reading all of the journal entries I was curious as to what kinds of foods you had to eat everyday. Did you have a very wide selection to chose from or was it very limited? Also was the food good or was it hard to eat on a daily basis? -Brandon Berardo

We were very fortunate to have an outstanding cooking staff at Toolik. Scientists have a limited time in the field, and a cooking staff is a huge benefit to helping scientists focus on their research. I also think a full and happy research team is a productive research team. The food was really amazing. We ate prime rib, crab legs, Korean short ribs, buffalo burgers, salmon… We also enjoyed a variety of ethnic dishes including Thai, Indian, and Vietnamese food! We enjoyed a minimum of 2 different homemade desserts every day! I really miss the food, but not the calories.
