I just finished listening to an archived event (July 17) and have a question. It was mentioned that bug spray is not allowed to be worn while at the research sites, so the bug shirts are worn to help with mosquitos. I was wondering the reason behind this? Thank you-Haley Hendry

Hi Haley,Our team didn't wear insect repellant because it could influence the behavior of the spiders and other invertebrates that we were studying. The bug shirts are even worn by teams that do use insect repellant because they work very well with the persistent mosquitoes in the tundra.
