Hi, I am a student from St.Mark Catholic School. My question is are any other species going to be endangered if the wolf spider overpopulates?

Nick LaFave

That's a really good question! In fact, that's one of the things we are trying to figure out. We are observing the populations of spider prey to try to answer that question. We probably won't have a clear answer right away though.

The temperature here ranges from 40 degree to 70 degrees in the summer. We have several species of spider, including 12 different species of wolf spider! But wolf spiders, particularly Pardosa lapponica is by far the most common. Thanks for the question!
