Hi Nick,

I have so enjoyed reading your blog all summer. I am Amanda's mother and although I knew what her research was about, you explained it so well that my whole family (a big family) has been following your journals. What I want to ask you is about the tundra. Some of your first pictures were of the tundra, and there was a host of color from the different flowers. Has the tundra changed much since then? Can you post a few more close-up pictures of the tundra? It is fascinating. Your pictures are fantastic!

Thank you so much! I've really enjoyed getting feedback from you through Amanda this summer! The changes in the tundra are really amazing. I posted a new picture showing the change in our study sites over roughly 1 month in my July 19 entry. It was incredible to watch a transition from snow and brown tundra, to green with flowers, to ripened berries and even the first signs of fall colors! I hope to put together some time-lapse videos to better show this process as I work through the pictures I've taken.
