Hi Nell,

You look like an expert driving the "Ocean Bowl" (speaking of which, they practiced at my house yesterday). How often do the divers see a leopard seal? That will be very exciting if you have to haul the divers out quickly!

Were you close enough to the elephant seals to hear them? We saw northern elephant seals at Point Reyes Natl. Seashore in California. They were huge and very noisy. It was amazing to see such an enormous animal in the wild.

I'm hoping one of these days you'll get a message from Jeff. He has the info to access the site.

Have a safe day on the water. Tami

Hi Tami,Thanks for the note. Good to hear to OB'ers are practicing for Nationals. Thanks again for giving them a place to do so! The frequency of leopard seal sitings varies from year to year. So far they haven't seen one while diving; I'm hoping we don't! I have seen two so far- one during my Boating 2 class and another on a walk I took after dinner. He was hauled out on the ice and sleeping- I'll be posting his picture later today.
Yes, I was close enough to the elephant seals to hear them. They sound hilarious- almost like frogs with their croaking!
That would be great to hear from Jeff, but I know he's busy. Hi to Janine!
Cheers,
Nell
P.S.- Any more luck with the videos?
