Hi, I was just reading you're latest journal entry........I don't really understand.I'd like to know more about how they clean the tanks. What do they use? Some type of rag or sponge? I'm so so so so so so so so so so so curious! By the way, I go to park forest elementary and I'm in fourth grade.

Hi Emma,Did you watch the video? They are shoveling and pumping the fuel out of the tank and will then refill it with new fuel. I am not sure what they use to clean it out before putting the new fuel in there. I'll find out and will get back to you!
Thanks for writing. Please say hi to the people at PFE!

Hi Emma,I had dinner with the Fuelies and asked them about cleaning the tank. They said they'll use squeegees to clean it out and then "pigs" to soak up the remnants. Have you heard of pigs for cleanup? I don't mean the animal, I mean the absorbent mats used for soaking up chemicals, etc. They are actually manufactured in Altoona, so it's amazing to think that they're using them all the way down here in Antarctica!
Take care,
