Ms. Herrmann!

I'd like to thank you for those beautiful pictures you have taken. I can't imagine what it would be like to view everything in person, the majestic glaciers, the beautiful animals, the vast ocean...I don't think I have ever been anywhere so dazzling in my life.

Antarctica just seems unreal to me. It feels so far off and away, and I appreciate so much how your journals help share your experiences with me. :)

It is a shame, however, that you cannot share with me what I hear is heavenly food.

Hooray! I'm so happy to hear from you and am pleased you are enjoying the journals and photos! This place really is awe inspiring and the science that's happening here is so impressive. I'm excited about an upcoming journal about autonomous underwater gliders that are being used to study phytoplankton in the Southern Ocean. Watch for that one- it's amazing stuff.
The food here is delightful; it's a good thing I'm staying active because I've definitely been taking advantage of the amazing opportunities at mealtimes.
Keep in touch,
-Ms. Herrmann
