This is Erika and Katrina! How is Antartica? We think that it's so amazing that you are there right now, as of right now you are the only person that we know that has ever been there. How are the penguins? What is the wind speed? I hope you don't get frostbite! :0! See you Soon! Erika Pugh and Katrina Burka

Hi Erika and Katrina,Antarctica is beautiful. It's really a magical place and I'm learning so much about what scientists here are doing to protect and understand this unique and special place. The penguins are great! There are 3 species in this part of Antarctica and I've seen all three (chinstraps, gentoos, Adelies). The wind speed at Palmer is pretty tame; usually between 0-12 mph at this time of year. Remember that I'm north of the Antarctic circle and it's still summer here (albeit the end of summer) so temperatures are in the thirties and sometimes even the forties.
Keep following!
