Hi Ms. Herrmann,

We are happy you finally made it! By the looks of it, we now have original pictures for the powerpoint for the school PolarTREC Ambassadors presentations! It will definitely be fun for you to tell all your stories when we visit the younger students. Have you seen any interesting sea creatures yet? How is the weather? It feels really cold here, but for you 20 degrees must be shorts and T-shirt worthy! Keep putting up pictures, I know we all enjoy seeing what's going on down in the Antarctic through your eyes :)

Hi Sophie!Yes, we will now have "original" pictures for our Polar Ambassadors presentations! Exciting! We're in the Drake Passage now (between the southern tip of South America at Cape Horn, Chile and the South Shetland Islands of Antarctica). The weather is nice. Blue skies and about 50 degrees. So far the seas are fairly calm which is good. Dr. McClintock, one of the scientists I'll be working with told me he experienced 35 foot waves once while passing through here; it wasn't such a comfortable voyage.
I'm glad you're enjoying the photos!
