Hi Nell,

The adventure begins. It sounds incredible and we love the photos. As Jake would say wicked cool:) How is sleeping on the boat? It looks bigger than I thought it would. We are excited for you and eagerly await your journals. Happy Valentine's Day.

Hi Michelle,It is definitely wicked cool! I'm in the Drake Passage now and headed down toward Antarctica. Life on the ship is good; the food is tasty and all the people are nice. Sleeping on the boat is fine. In fact, last night I went to bed at 10 p.m. and didn't get up until 8:30 this morning. I'm down in the belly of the ship (in the cargo hold) and the rocking down there is actually very peaceful. I should arrive to Palmer Station on 2-17. We'll be stopping along the way to look at a field site for some geologists.
Happy Valentine's Day to you!
