Hi! Im Sophia from Mr.Woods second period class. I just want to ask you a few questions. My questions are what kind of fish have you seen and what is the coolest tempature it has reached were you are? Thanks and I hope you have a fun and safe time!

Hi Sophia, thank you for writing. I have not seen any fish because they are under
the surface of the water. I have seen very large whales, though, which are
marine mammals and not fish. Some of the difference is that the whales,
like you and me, have warm blood, breath air and have lungs, have hair at
one point in their lives, and drink milk form their mom when they are
babies and are born alive. Fish, on the other hand, have cold blood, breath
air that is dissolved in the water through their gills, never have hair, do
not drink milk from their mom and are born from an egg (some sharks are
born alive even though they are fish).
The coldest temperature I remember seeing in the thermometer was -10 C (14
F), but it feels al ot colder when the wind is blowing. We have had wind
chills close to -35 F, brrrr!
Thanks again for writing.
Juan.
