Hi Juan,

Not really related to Seawater Property Changes, but none-the-less, and important question, how is your stomach? I showed all of my classes today some of your pictures, and I will continue to do so. I do have another question--when you arrived and took those first pictures, how cold was it? You mentioned the time, but not the temperature. The whole science team is thinking about you and you adventure.

Hi John, thanks for writing. My stomach has been great, but we have not
boarded the boat yet. The plane ride was better than a commercial one. A
bit noisy, but we could walk around and even climb to the cockpit. Very
tiny windows on the doors, so not much sightseeing. Other than that,
just great. Temperature at arrival was -10F. Balmy. Things wet bad once
the wind starts to blow. My hardest hike has been the shortest. Not even
15 minutes and boy it was tough with that wind. We did a 6 hour hike
today and was so much better.
Thanks for showing the pictures. I am enjoying a lot being at McMurdo
Station. Please say hi to every body.
Juan.

Juan-
Glad to hear the stomach is holding up, of course that does not help me in the pool! We are still discussing the presentation. Our pathfinder meeting was cut short due to the budger repair bill so hopefully next Monday (one week from today) I will know more! The pictures you are posting are beautiful. Hope the rest of the trip goes as smoothly as it seems the start has been! Take care, Nichole

Hi Nichole, stomach is still holding, but I might have a different answer in an hour
or so. We are starting to move a bit more... I was able to read the news
before embarking and I am concerned that with the loss of instruction time
the whole idea of the presentation will no longer work. I hope there will
still be time for that. Thanks for writing and have a great day,
Juan.
