Hi. My name is Jimmy from Mr. Woods 6th period science class. I would like to ask you a question. What types of different animals have you seen since the beginning of your expedition? I would really like to know because I love animals. Thanks. Have a great expedition!

Hi Jimmy, thanks a lot for writing; we have something in common, since I also love
animals.
We have seen the following flying bird: skuas, several kinds of petrels
(Antarctic, Snow, Cape, giant) and Albatross. I have been lucky to also see
Adélie penguins and Emperor penguins. I have heard we will be able to see
Rockhoppers, Chinstraps and Gentus once we get close tot the Antarctic
peninsula
I have seen the following marine mammals: Wedell Seals, Leopard Seals and
Crabeater Seals. Minke Whale, Orcas (both from a great distance) and
Humpback whales from very, very close.
Thanks again fro writing Jimmy.
Juan.
