Hi Sarah,
Lucky you to be on an icebreaker for two months! The icebergs will have you mouth open wide and the wildlife, oh my how wonderous!
I have had the good fortune of crossing the southern ocean into Antarctica on a small ship. Lucky for me it was very smooth, both times. Wondering if you have any plans on how to cope with the roaring forties and furious fifties during early spring?
I can tell you from my experience this spring that an icebreaker is the BEST place to be in the presence of ice. Storms are so much smoother when you are surrounded by sea ice as opposed to the open water.
warmly,
Maggie
