SIMBA Antarctic Sea Ice

Hey Ms. Anderson, My class recently studied global warming and its causes and effects.  The melting of sea ice is clearly caused by an increase in temperatures, and I was wondering if you personally thought that global warming is caused by detrimental human activities or if you think it is a natural cyclical cycle.  Thanks so much for your time, Kate Conner.

Hi Kate - thanks for posting your question. I think that the "jury is still out" on this one - the Earth has certainly gone through drastic cycles of climate change, so that theory seems reasonable. But, on the other hand, it seems naive to think we haven't accelerated the warming...I think we all need to keep an open mind and learn as much as we can about the issue, and do our part to reduce the impact that we have on the planet. Mrs. Anderson
