Hi my name is Allison, I go to Pope John Paul II High School in Boca Raton, Florida, and I am currently taking a course in marine science. I was wondering how difficult it was for you to adapt to your new environment? thank you for taking the time to read my question.

Hi Allison,This is a difficult question. Of course I miss home and my wife and dogs. The cold is fierce but manageable and not nearly as bad as other parts of the year. If I were not with people that had been here many times before I would be lost. It can be very complicated to arrange transportation, gather equipment, coordinate with camps, and try to stay warm in the process. We are presently in a camp that has some warm buildings to take shelter in and basic facilities like toilets. Everyone gets one shower a week so the pain is shared.Hope that helps.Justin
