Soil Ecology in Antarctic Dry Valleys

Hey Jason! Awesome photos, thanks. Can you please give us an overview of the geology of the Dry Valleys, and explain why they are dry (seems such a contradiction!). Cheers -

Sorry, this is way out of my field. The dry part is due to the surrounding mountains that knock the moisture out of the very few weather systems that have moisture before they arrive to this part of the continent. Hope that helps.Justin
