Hi Mr.Kendhammer it's me John Jaramillo and I was wounderng if the soil was effected by the dead seal you found near Lake Hoare......????!

Hi John,You are totally right. A researcher was here last year looking at the same thing you observed. They found that the soils under the dead seals were carbon hot spots. This acted to stimulate the growth of the microbial communities around them and had chain reactions for other carbon feeders too. Dang John, good question.
