Dear Ms. Bergholz

Our Contemporary Issues class here at UNIS would like to know if you have noticed any significant changes compared to your first research period there, that seem to be due to global warming.

best wishes,

Dr. Jennifer Ehly and the class

Elke Bergholz

Dear Dr. Jennifer Ehly and your Contemporary Issues class, Thank you for the question.
In terms of the ozone data we ahve not seen any significant difference. Bryan Johson and his group have predicted that we might see some significant changes in 2060 in terms of the ozone layer. If we continue to predict it we might now have an ozone hole anymore.
The CFC's in the air are declining. These were the gases responsible for the ozone depletion and they were banned by the Montreal protocol. So we can observe an effect of the Montreal protocol.
Global warming is effected by gases like CO2. This gas is still increasing in the atmosphere!! So, we have to conitue to reduce the use of fossil fuels and introduce emission control in the US.
I hope you are having a good break.
