Hello I am a student at Marymount school manhattan, my name is Eshautine King

I jsut want to know what data have you collected so far about the ozone contents?

Elke Bergholz

Hi Eshautine, We have done two types of ozone data collections
1. Surface ozone:We launched a smaller and pink balloons, sending them up to 800 metersThis data collection will help us to understand more about the photochemistry that produces elevated ozone above the snow around this time of the year here at the South Pole. This is a base line research.
2. Stratospheric ozone:We regularly launche balloons of larger size and yellow color. This balloon goes through the stratosphere up to 35 kilometers. Thse are the types of flights that help us to monitor the ozone hole over Antarctica from August through November.
Both flights collect a profile of ozone data while going through the air.
thank you for your question and happy Holidays to you.
