How many layers of clothing are you wearing when you go outside?

Have you had to help anybody in trouble yet?

Has the temperature changed alot from last time?

What was the coldest temperature so far that you have been in?

Do you miss your family and classes?

What was the most exicting thing you did so far?

How are you keeping fit?

How much free time do you have?

If you send us some data on daily temperature,we will make some line graphs.

stay safe,

happy holidays

Dear M1-02 at UNIS and dear Ms.  Fairchild, thank you for your great questions. I will answer them in order.
1. I am wearing either 3 or 4 layers, depending what I have to do. I always have the red coat on and the hood is perfect against the wind.
2. No, we have been lucky. No one got in trouble yet. Today, December 21st was an emergency drill that included over 100 people. It was very assuring how well everybody was prepared.
3. No not by much. However, we are having a heat wave. When I arrived we had minus 28 F. Today we had only minus 10 F. I am very concerned.
4. The coldest temperature I have been in this year were minus 48 F with windchill factor.
5.  I miss them, but not so that I can not make the best out of my stay here. I feel very lucky that I can be here and share this experience with so many students and with my family.
6. The most exciting thing I did so far was launching a pink balloon and walking ot the poles during a very windy day. Landing here at the pole was also very exciting.
7. I try not to eat too much becusse there is alwasy a lot of food available. I try to walk around the sattion out side and I started to use the bicycle in the gym. The new station has an excellent gym.
8. I do not have much free time.  But my mission here is to be in contact with many peolple, including getting to know people here at the station. So I do not miss free time . If I would stay longer, I would have to establish a different routine. I feel like I have not enough time to do everything and to meet evrybody and to do the research. So I focus on the things I can do and still get some rest at night.
9. I think your idea of making line graphs of the daily temperature is great. You can actually get the temperature directly form my journals. They are lsited everyday right at the beginning of each journal.  You could even include the effects of the windchill because I am also listing everyday the temperature with the windchill effect.

Happy Holidays to you as well!!
Cheers, E. Bergholz
